My English name is Joy, which has the same meaning as my second name in Chinese. When I got my second job I was asked to have an English name. Everyone in the office called each other with English name. At that time, I felt quite not myself at the very beginning when I was called Joy by colleagues whom I thought were totally strangers to me. (P.S. With all these years going by, when colleagues in this company call me by my Chinese name, I felt very weird. )
Getting back to how I get my English name, it's my husband, also my boyfriend at that time, who proposed that name to me, when finding me couldn't pick up a name after long search in an English dictionary.
Guess, what my second name is? which single character in Chinese has the same meaning with Joy?
My English name is Ben. How I got my English name? It's my English lecture who proposed it to me. I like this nickname, meanwhile, The pronunciation between Ben and “滨” are almost the same, moreover, Ben is named for a tall and strong and black eyes man. So, that’s how it comes. :loveliness::loveliness:
Camila
